What is Andre's AcidLine?
Andre's AcidLine is a classic acid bass synthesizer for iOS. It features a monophonic synth voice with a resonant filter, accent and slide controls, a step sequencer for programming basslines, and a playable on-screen keyboard with MIDI support.
How do I make my first sound?
Tap the on-screen keyboard to play notes immediately. The synth produces sound as soon as you touch a key. Adjust the cutoff and resonance knobs to shape the tone. For sequenced patterns, switch to the step sequencer and program a bassline.
What kind of synth engine is this?
AcidLine is a monophonic (single-voice) synthesizer with a resonant low-pass filter — the classic architecture behind the acid bass sound. It plays one note at a time, which is how the signature squelchy, sliding basslines are created.

What do the cutoff and resonance controls do?
Cutoff controls the frequency point of the low-pass filter — lower values remove more high frequencies for a darker tone; higher values open the filter for a brighter sound. Resonance boosts frequencies around the cutoff point, creating the characteristic “squelch” of the acid sound. Turn resonance up high for aggressive, screaming tones.
What is the envelope?
The filter envelope controls how the filter cutoff changes over time when a note is triggered. A sharp, decaying envelope sweep is key to the classic acid sound — the filter opens quickly on each note and then closes, creating that punchy, rhythmic character.
How do I get the classic acid sound?
Set resonance to a medium-high level, use a moderate cutoff with a strong envelope amount, and program a pattern with accent and slide. The interaction between the filter, envelope, accent, and slide is what produces the signature acid bass sound.
Accent & slide
What does accent do?
Accent makes selected steps louder and drives the filter harder, producing a sharper, more aggressive tone on those beats. In the step sequencer, toggle accent on individual steps to create rhythmic emphasis and dynamic variation across your pattern.
What does slide do?
Slide (also called glide or portamento) creates a smooth pitch transition from one note to the next instead of an abrupt jump. This is essential to the acid bass sound — sliding between notes while the filter sweeps creates the liquid, rubbery feel that defines the genre.
How do I use accent and slide together?
In the step sequencer, you can toggle both accent and slide independently on each step. A step with both accent and slide will glide from the previous note with extra filter intensity. Experiment with different combinations — the interplay between accented and slid notes is where the magic happens.
Step sequencer & MIDI
How does the step sequencer work?
The step sequencer lets you program a bassline step by step. Set the note, octave, accent, and slide for each step in the pattern. Press play to hear the sequence loop. You can adjust tempo and pattern length to fit your workflow.
Can I use a MIDI controller?
Yes. Connect a MIDI keyboard or controller to your device (via Bluetooth MIDI, USB, or a camera adapter). AcidLine responds to MIDI note input for real-time playing. Check your device's MIDI settings if the controller is not detected.
Can I use AcidLine with other music apps?
AcidLine supports MIDI connectivity. You can send and receive MIDI notes to and from other compatible music apps and hardware on your device.
Subscriptions & purchases
How does the subscription work?
Andre's AcidLine offers auto-renewing subscriptions through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID, and subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
On your device: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Andre's AcidLine. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge.
I paid but features aren't unlocked / I reinstalled the app.
Open the upgrade screen and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used to buy.
How do I get a refund?
All purchases are handled by Apple. Request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com — we can't process them on Apple's behalf.
Troubleshooting
The app is not producing sound.
Check that your device is not in silent mode (the physical mute switch on the side of your iPhone/iPad). Also check your volume level and make sure no Bluetooth audio device is connected that might be receiving the output. If using a MIDI controller, verify that the on-screen keyboard or sequencer is active. Try closing and reopening the app.
There is audio latency or crackling.
Close other apps running in the background to free up system resources. If you are using Bluetooth audio, switch to wired headphones or the device speaker — Bluetooth adds latency that affects real-time synthesis. Make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS.
My MIDI controller is not detected.
Ensure your MIDI device is powered on and properly connected (USB via camera adapter, or paired via Bluetooth MIDI in your device's Bluetooth settings). Try disconnecting and reconnecting the controller. Some controllers may require a compatible adapter.
Where is my data stored?
All your patches, sequences, and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store your data. See our Privacy Policy for details. Deleting the app will remove all locally stored data.
