When you write in, it helps to include your device model, iOS version, the app version (Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Speed Weather, or the version shown on the app's About screen), and a screenshot if something looks wrong.
Getting started
What is the Speed Index?
A single 0–100 score for how fast the air is right now, computed from air density, density altitude, temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure. Higher is better air for making power. It's an estimate based on live conditions and your vehicle profile — not a dyno reading.
Why does my Speed Index differ from a buddy's at the same track?
The score is tuned to your vehicle. Different engine type, horsepower, fuel, and setup in your Garage will shift the number. Make sure your vehicle details are accurate.
Where does the weather data come from?
The U.S. National Weather Service and other public sources, plus topographic elevation. Live weather coverage is currently U.S. only.
Tracks & radar
How do I pick or add a track?
On the Radar or Race HQ screen, tap Select Track. Choose Current Location, pick from Saved or Popular tracks, or tap + to search for and add any track or place.
A track's elevation looks wrong.
Popular-track elevations are approximate. Tap the track and edit it — elevation drives air-density and density-altitude accuracy, so entering your track's known elevation improves every estimate.
The radar map looks empty.
Radar only paints color where there's precipitation. On a clear day even the wide view shows just the base map — that's the radar being accurate, not broken. Use the Local / Regional / Wide zoom to look for approaching weather; the color legend shows intensity from Light to Intense.
Radar is centered on the wrong place.
Make sure you've granted Location access (Settings → Speed Weather → Location), or pick a track manually with Select Track.
Garage & runs
How do I add a vehicle?
Open the Garage tab and tap +. Use the Year / Make / Model pickers, then set engine, horsepower, fuel, and setup. Your first vehicle is free; multiple vehicles are a Pro feature.
The time-slip scanner missed some numbers.
Use a flat, well-lit photo of the slip. If your slip shows both lanes, pick your lane first. Always double-check the auto-filled values before saving — you can edit any field by hand.
Pro, billing & trials
What's included in Pro?
Multiple vehicle profiles, “Best Track Near Me,” head-to-head track comparison, time-slip scanning, and run history with personal-best and density-altitude vs. ET trends.
Pricing
$1.99/month or $9.99/year (each with a 7-day free trial), or a one-time Lifetime unlock at $29.99.
How do I start the free trial?
Tap any Pro feature, then Start 7-Day Free Trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
On your device: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Speed Weather. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or period ends to avoid the next charge.
I paid but Pro isn't unlocked / I reinstalled the app.
Open any upgrade screen and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used to buy.
Refunds
All purchases are handled by Apple. Request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com — we can't process them on Apple's behalf.
